The ROS-Industrial Consortium Americas will host its annual meeting next week at Southwest Research Institute, with a day, the 7th, of open to the public demonstrations and talks, followed by a members only event, on the 8th, that will include ROS-I developments, updates from relevant organizations and development hubs, and roadmapping/project topic workshops.

The next edition of the ROS-Industrial Academy has taken place at Fraunhofer IPA. In a full week program, the target is to boost participants with little or no ROS knowledge to a level with broad comprehension of the robotic framework.

The partner university TUT in Pretoria, South Africa of FHA was interested in giving the second edition of the Summer School located at their university. Through the success of the first edition FHA was asked again to contribute to this event with their expertise.

The first public beta of official Ensenso ROS driver is now available at http://wiki.ros.org/ensenso_driver . The development of the driver is one of the Focused Techincal Projects (FTPs) of the first round of ROSIN grants.

ROSIN partners informed several members of the EU parliament about the state of robotics (Europe is doing very well) and about the best course of action (invest more in robotics, while keeping an eye on societal implications).
